Our founding group of volunteers make up our Board and Committee, they are the pulse of the group and dedicate so much of their personal time to this cause. Continue reading below to learn about the people that are helping Kirkliston Community Conservation Volunteers (KCCV) grow.
HELEN MCPHEE
Volunteer
Hello my name is Helen McPhee. I have lived in the village since 1982 when we moved to Auldgate. We brought up our family here. I am retired after 40 + years nursing, many at Bangour and St Johns Hospitals. Always had an interest in community activities particularly Girlguiding, church and the previous environmental group. Excited to be part of KCCV and the activities we have planned and meeting new folk
GILL WALKER
Secretary
Gill has lived in Kirkliston since 2007. A professional programme manager (MAPM) with 20+ years experience of consultancy, she now runs UK public sector business development for a European management consultancy. While she's not working she is a keen amateur photographer, herbalist and wildlife gardener, and frustrated beekeeper.
JANE RICHARDSON
Chair
I’ve lived in Kirkliston for 15 years now and it was the best move we ever made. I work for a Engineering Consultancy company and was lucky enough to be based on site during the construction of the Queensferry Crossing. Now that my two children are all grown-up I have more time to potter in my garden, unfortunately I’m no expert! While driving through other villages and seeing beautiful flower displays everywhere I thought why can’t we do that in our village. I’m hoping to learn from this great team and to encourage more people to take pride in the village and get involved.
KIRSTY CHISHOLM
Treasurer
Kirsty has been the one keeping us on course with the funding and finances, she’s just as comfortable with a trowel as she is a calculator though and has been showing us her green fingered ways.
PEMMA ELIZABETH
Volunteer
I’m fairly new to the village so have found helping with the KCCV a great way to meet new people and feel part of the community. I have my own garden where I grow a few low maintenance vegetables and am attempting fruit columns too! I also have 19 indoor plants… and counting! I’ve managed to help out KCCV mostly through social media management as I have a 1 year old son and time is brittle at the moment. I’m looking forward to getting him involved as he grows though, setting an example of community spirit and environmental awareness.
DRUMMOND BLACK
Volunteer
I am a retired Aircraft Systems design engineer who has lived in Kirkliston for 51 years. I am community minded as I have previously chaired Kirkliston Scout Group. My passion is Classic Cars and any engineering challenge presented to me.
